Dressing Rooms, Ceremony & Reception.

When we began our wedding venue hunt, we were 99% positive eloping was for us. We thought going down the traditional wedding route was way too expensive for a couple paying their own way and looking to start their future…we had no interest in going into debt for one day.

That was until we stumbled upon The Arlington Treehouse. From our first meeting, Ed was incredibly hospitable and accommodating. We thought it was a lovely home but couldn’t imagine hosting an event in someone’s house… until we saw their upstairs reception area. The moment we saw the space, we knew it was perfect for us.

Ed was incredibly thorough during our initial consultation. He explained exactly what the price was for, gave examples of previous events they hosted, and had amazing recommendations such as The Italian Store (which we used for catering) and the Bon Air Rose Garden (where we took our formal portraits). Although we didn’t meet Abby during our first visit, Ed raved about her artwork which beautifully decorated their home and skill with plating and floral arrangements. The way Ed talked about Abby sealed the deal. We could tell how much love they have for each other, and we wanted to be surrounded by that energy our entire engagement.

We slept on it for 24 hours and knew if we wanted to have a wedding with friends and family, we had found our venue! Ed and Abby always answered our questions in less than a day (typically within an hour or two) and made us feel incredibly confident we could host our event without a wedding planner.

We arrived in Arlington on Wednesday with the supplies we had from home. They let us come early to drop off our décor. Allowing us that extra time in their home was a lifesaver! Most of the bulk items (food, drinks, floral) were purchased Wednesday-Friday and they left their doors open for us to drop off whenever we needed.

I was nervous about the flowers and Abby once again had the perfect suggestion. We went to Trader Joe’s Friday morning and bought anything and everything that fit the color scheme. We brought them back to Abby; she asked a few questions about which flowers should be in which bouquet/bud vases and said she would handle everything else!

They even hosted our rehearsal, allowed us to practice multiple times with the music, and once again had great recommendations about people placements for the best photos. We chose not to have our rehearsal dinner at the treehouse, but we loved that the offer was there if we wanted to keep everything simple.

Saturday, the day of our wedding, we created a timeline for the day, and Ed and Abby followed it to a tee. The ceremony was so memorable with their backyard in full bloom (August wedding).

The food was perfect and everything was the correct temperature. The florals: from the bouquets to the table decorations were more than we could have asked for and looked professionally done!

Our DJ was not shy and really cranked the tunes, but they were right! If you ventured outside, you couldn’t hear a thing! It was perfect for those that wanted to dance, but those that wanted a quiet conversation could enjoy one of the two patios - there was a place for everyone!

Our wedding went off without a hitch, and we still receive compliments about the day. Most weddings I’ve attended, everyone talks about the obvious things – the wedding dress or the DJ, but the behind-the-scenes work usually goes unnoticed. We have had nearly all our guests gush about how beautiful The Arlington Treehouse was and how amazing Ed and Abby are.

We can’t recommend The Arlington Treehouse enough! Not only did we get to have the low key/relaxed wedding we wanted, but Ed, Abby, and their team felt like family by the end of it and not just a random place we found online.
